An Open Door

We are about to walk through an open door into 2024! I love the excitement and anticipation that a new year holds. On the Hebrew calendar the year is 5784 and the prophetic meaning is the year of the Open Doors. It speaks of possibilities and dreaming with God. In Hebrew the 4 is the number of the door or the letter Dalet.

“This aspect of the number four is pictured by what transpired on the fourth day of creation. On the fourth day God established the sun, moon, and stars “to give light on the earth”, and to serve as “signs”. The sun was given to rule over the day and the moon to rule over the night. Likewise, we see the four aspects of Yeshua, the Light of the world, portrayed in the four gospels as a picture of God’s love and forgiveness toward mankind. Without this light we remain in spiritual darkness” ( p.58, In His Own Words, L. Grant Luton). Luton goes on to describe these four aspects of Jesus as: Messiah the King, in Matthew; Messiah the Servant, in Mark; Messiah the Man, in Luke; and the Divine Messiah in John. What an incredible time to be celebrating all that Jesus has opened to us. Jesus is the door through which all is reconciled to the Father. Daniel Cook, in the book Friends of Eber, states it this way,

First John 4:17 reveals that as He is in the earth, so are we (paraphrased). We are the portal between Heaven and earth, between the night choshek and the day yom. Bringing the mysteries of Yahweh into the tangible evidence on the earth requires a door- a portal. It is with our hands outstretched that we bring about the shefa, the flow of the rivers of living water and unending supply into the earth (p.24).

I want to challenge you friends, with this open door that awaits us to evaluate where God has been moving in your life. I have spoken to a lot of individuals over the past several weeks about dreams and desires. Last year at this time, God asked me to write down the desires of my heart. It was an invitation to dream with Him and actually recognize what He has placed as deep desires within me. When we have dealt with disappointments throughout our journey, it is easy for the enemy to, “steal, and to kill, and to destroy” (John 10:10, NKJV) those dreams. Jesus goes on to say in the rest of that passage, “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”

Regardless of the disappointments you have experienced in 2023, this door is opening for each of us, with equal opportunities to partner with God in ways that will open an abundant life before you. As you step through the door in Jesus, you will be amazed at what opportunities await!

Steps in Pursuit

  1. Over the next week, write down dreams and desires that you have held in your heart, but perhaps have been forgotten or stolen.
  2. Meditate on Psalm 37:4. Delight Yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.
  3. I love to ask Father God what is on His heart for me at the beginning of a new year. Last year, I heard Him say that this year would be a year of “development and design.” As I reflect back, I can see this movement of God in my life. Go ahead and ask Him, what He holds for you!

I am anticipating all the incredible possibilities as we dream and desire with God for this new year of Open Doors! Let’s Go….

Continue the Pursuit,

Denise
