Blessing Your Body

Dr. Pamela Legate is a Naturopathic Doctor who imparts natural health living choices from the Scriptures encouraging people to walk in wholeness and the identity of who they are in Christ. She has written a 22 day devotional that uses the Hebrew letters to bless the body. I wanted to share some of the information  that has been a blessing to me. Dr. Legate writes:

Hey is the fifth Hebrew letter in the alphabet and the number five. Hey is a picture of divine breath, revelation and light. It is used twice in the holy name of God, Yahweh as He is Spirit and the Breath of Life.

Psalm 33:6 declares, “By the word of the Lord were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth” (KJV).

God’s creative power comes forth from His breath! He gives a path of “teshuvah,” a way to return to the path when you have strayed.

The main function of our lungs is to take oxygen from the air we breathe and infuse that life-giving element into red blood cells which carry it around to the cells in our body. Then the lungs rid our body of carbon dioxide gas when we breathe out. In the natural, the process of breathing mimics the spiritual principle of the Father breathing into us life. The natural process of breathing gives a framework in which to imagine the spiritual application of what taking a breath can accomplish.

When we breathe in, we can speak and then act on His word. We can practice daily breathing in more of the Lord. Inhale deeply with your lungs and focus on Him. Imagine the Father infusing your spirit with life as the oxygen infuses your body. Then as you release your breath, release the things you need to let go of to make more room for Holy Spirit.

Job 33:4 reminds us, “… the breath of the Almighty hath given me life” (KJV).

At the end of each devotional, Dr. Legate has a written prayer that you can speak in blessing over your body.

Prayer:

Father, I thank You for the breath of life

You gave my body.

I thank you for the grace and redemption

You have given to me,

For the path of “teshuvah” to return to You.

I speak blessings over my lungs and

my whole respiratory system.

May You fill me with the breath of Your Holy Spirit. May He

transform my life and health

and all that is within my kingdom and domain.

May I think, speak, and act

according to Your will.

Thank You for filling my lungs.

Thank You, Father, that Your breath is

life-sustaining to my system.

I ask for blessing on my breath

Both in the physical and spiritual dimensions.

I declare Psalm 119:38,

“Fulfill Your word to your servant, who is devoted to Your awesomeness.”

I speak health to my respiratory system in Jesus’ name,

Amen

Continue the Pursuit,

Denise
