Reflecting His Glory

One of the things I enjoy most about being a part of the family of God is joining with other passionate seekers and lifting up our hearts and voices in love to God. The unity of the Spirit is beautiful beyond compare! It was in one of these moments recently, that I saw in the spirit a huge dark cloud swirling above those of us praying together, flowing down on the spiritual mountain we were standing on. I immediately thought of Moses communing with Yahweh on the mountain in Exodus 19:

Vs. 18 So it came about on the third day, when it was morning, that there were thunder and lightning flashes and a thick cloud upon the mountain and a very loud trumpet sound, so that all the people who were in the camp trembled. Vs. 19 When the sound of the trumpet grew louder and louder, Moses spoke and God answered him with a voice like thunder. Vs. 20 And the Lord came down on Mount Sinai, to the top of the mountain; and the Lord called Moses to the top of the mountain, and Moses went up. (NAS)

There was an invitation given to enter into the presence of God, even though it was overwhelmingly awesome and intimidating. The Lord called Moses to the top of the mountain and Moses went up. It is so easy to read these stories in scripture and not consider the doors that are opened up to us by Jesus who is the Door that by Him, we can boldly come into the presence of God just like Moses. As I was praying in the Spirit, I heard the question, “Who can ascend the mountain of Yahweh?” I knew this was a question found in Psalm 24, and my spirit answered the question, “He who has clean hands and a pure heart…”

Vs.6 They will stand before God, for they seek the pleasure of God’s face, the God of Jacob. (TPT)

As I pressed into the presence of God, I felt the light beginning to burst through us, the living gateways, welcoming the King of Glory coming through us into creation! Which is exactly what happens in the last part of Psalm 24.

Vs. 7 So wake up, you living gateways! Lift up your heads, you doorways of eternity! Welcome the King of Glory, for he is about to come through you. (TPT)

In my spirit I felt a crescendo building… A crescendo is a musical term that has the meaning of “the highest point reached in a progressive increase of intensity.” Much like the sound of the trumpet that grew louder and louder as Moses encountered God. A similar scene happened when Jesus was transfigured on the mountain. Luke 9 tells us that “A radiant glory illuminated his entire body. His brightness became so intense that it made his clothing blinding white, as multiple flashes of lightning.” (vs.29, TPT)

As we draw near to God’s presence in the cloud of closeness and intimacy, with our eyes fixed on Him, we will radiate his glory.  The darkness and chaos around us will be consumed, as we release his light to the world. Paul describes this metamorphosis beautifully in 2 Corinthians 3:18:

We can all draw close to him with the veil removed from our faces. And with no veil we all become like mirrors who brightly reflect the glory of the Lord Jesus. We are being transfigured into his very image as we move from one brighter level of glory to another. And this glorious transfiguration comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit. (TPT)

Steps in Pursuit

  1. God has always desired closeness with his children. There are times when negative experiences with our earthly fathers, may leave us feeling like God doesn’t enjoy our company. If this has been some of your experience I encourage you to spend some time asking God to heal the wounds and allow him to reveal his loving heart towards you.
  2. Feelings of unworthiness or shame will block us from closeness and intimacy. These emotions are often stored physically in the area of the kidneys. Practice emotional realignment by placing your hands on your kidneys (low back area) and release these blocking emotions. Then with your hands remaining on the kidneys agree with unconditional love and worth that we have in Jesus.
  3. 2 Corinthians shows us that as we gaze upon the face of Jesus, we will become more and more like him. Spend some time in worship this week, sitting face to face with Jesus.

The world needs more love and light! Release the beautiful glory of Kingdom love and light as you open the doors of your heart and SHINE.

Continue the Pursuit,

Denise
