Joint Health

Now that we have shifted into the summer season, there are lots of activities that we are enjoying with our family and friends. Joint issues can certainly put a damper for many people on some of the outdoor fun. Often, in our western mindset, we don’t recognize the connection between physical pain and the emotional roots that they often stem from. Unless we have experienced an injury that is still causing discomfort as it heals, one of the biggest culprits of physical pain is the unresolved emotional pain that is trapped in our bodies. In her book Feelings Buried Alive Never Die, Karol Truman lists some of the emotional roots to joint pain.

Joints: Feelings of resentment, suppressing hurt feelings

Hips: Fears making major decisions, has nothing to look forward to, lack of emotional & physical self-support Hip joint: Not wanting to accept present experiences, non-acceptance of physical experiences

Knee problems: Unable to be flexible, not wanting to bend (usually to authority) ego gets in the way, pride gets in the way, stubborn- wanting own way

Knee- Left: Need to be more receptive to events, feelings of insecurity, experiencing unresolved stress

Knee- Right: Need to be more assertive, not wanting to give in to authority

Ankles: Fears falling or failing, inflexibility, instability in present situation

Back- Upper: Feels unsupported or burdened emotionally, withholding your love from others, feeling agitated or anxious, feelings of frustration

Back- Middle: Feeling guilty, lacking self-support, lacking in self-confidence

Back- Lower: Feels unsupported financially, experiencing fear where money is concerned, wanting to back out of something, in a relationship that hurts, running away from a situation

It is fascinating to me, after working with individuals who have had both physical and emotional pain over the past 27 years, how accurate those descriptions really are! As we work together in emotional realignment to release trapped emotional hurts from the body, soul and spirit, we begin to see a healthier flow of energy in the body that promotes mobility. God has given our bodies an innate ability to heal. Denying and burying emotions only promotes pain in our bodies. While we are quick to try to relieve pain through medications and surgery, we often miss the opportunity to heal from the inside out by dealing with the root issues. We also need to be wise in caring for our joints long-term by eating healthy foods that are anti-inflammatory and choosing activities that protect the longevity of our joints. Summer provides weather that is great for some of these activities, such as swimming, biking and walking. There are healthier options for the wellness of our joints and overall health!

Steps in Pursuit:

  1. Use the list above to identify any emotional roots that may be manifesting physically in joint pain. Take time to address those issues honestly and openly.
  2. Enjoy time with family and friends doing an outside activity that is easier on the joints. Go swimming or biking for some exercise and fun!
  3. Research foods that will promote joint health and reduce inflammation.

Many people are simply unaware of the negative effects of trapped emotions, and the long term consequences on their physical health. Help me educate others with these important truths! Join me for future trainings and become equipped to provide a healthier future for yourself and others!

Continue the Pursuit,

Denise
